The Worcester Brewery of brewers and maltsters J.W & J.V.Stallard, was purchased with 7 tied houses in 1884 by Herbert William and Arthur George Spreckley. The business traded as Spreckley Brothers until 1897 when Spreckley Brothers merged with George Joseland & Sons of Worcester which owned 9 public houses. The Company name was changed to Spreckley Brothers Ltd with a total estate of 57 public houses.
The Worcester Brewery was acquired by Cheltenham & Hereford Breweries Ltd with 68 public houses in 1958 and was closed in 1960. Some of the maltings remain as housing.
