Lewis, Clarke & Co. Round Black Backed Steel

Lewis, Clarke & Co. black backed steel tray dating from the 1920s. The business was founded in Worcester by Henry Harrison in 1842. By 1883 the Company was trading as Lewis, Clarke & Co. The Company was registered as Lewis Clarke Ltd in 1927. The brewery and its 53 public houses were acquired by Marston, Thompson & Evershed Ltd in 1937 and brewing ceased in the 1950s. Bottling continued until the early 1970s. The manufacturer's mark states - Causton, London.
