Dudgeon & Co. Ltd tin tray dating from the 1960s. The brewery was established in 1719 and was controlled by the Dudgeon and Hunter families until 1792. The Company was acquired outright by Ellis Dudgeon in 1815. The Company was registered as Dudgeon & Co. Ltd in 1944. The brewery was acquired by Clydesdale Commonwealth Hotels Ltd in 1972 and the name was changed to Belhaven Brewery Co. Ltd. A consortium, which included Nazmu Virani, purchased the Company in 1979, however, in the same year it was sold to Raymond Miquel but was re-purchased by Virani's Company, Control Securities plc in 1981. In 1993 the business was acquired through a management buy-out led by Stuart Ross. In 2005 the Company was acquired by Greene King plc and is still brewing on Brewery Lane in Dunbar. In 2019 CK Asset Holdings announced the take over of The Greene King Group. The manufacturer's mark states - Reginald Corfield Ltd Lombard Road.London.S.W.19.
