Chester Northgate Brewery Co. Ltd (Owned by Greenall Whitley & Co. Ltd) Round Aluminium
Chester Northgate Brewery Co. Ltd aluminium tray dating from the late 1950s. The brewery was based in Chester, Cheshire.
Chester Northgate Brewery Co. Ltd aluminium tray dating from the late 1950s. The business was founded in 1760 at the Golden Falcon Hotel. A new brewery was built on the same site in the 1850s and the Company traded as Chester Northgate Brewery. In 1889 the business was registered as Chester Northgate Brewery Co. Ltd. The Company was acquired by Greenall Whitley & Co. Ltd in 1949, brewing ceased in 1969, and the site was demolished in 1971. The manufacturer's mark states - Reginald Corfield Ltd London. S.W.19. I believe the tray pictured postdated the Greenall's takeover. I have another tray in my collection similar to the one pictured but with black writing.
