Chadwick's Walmersley Brewery Ltd black backed steel tray dating from the 1920s The brewery was founded around 1840 by Robert Chadwick. The Company was registered as Chadwick's Walmersley Brewery Ltd in 1891. In 1927 the business was acquired by the Manchester Brewery Co. Ltd, which was then a subsidiary of Walker & Homfrays Ltd, and was closed. The brewery was destroyed by a fire in 2007. The manufacturer's mark states - B.A.T.Co. Ltd Smethwick,5620
