Ashford Valley Cyders Ltd tin tray dating from the late 1950s. The firm acquired the former Lion Brewery, once owned by Ashford Breweries Ltd, from Style & Winch Ltd in 1921. The premises were converted from stores for the production of cider. The Company was registered as the Ashford Valley Cider Co. Ltd in 1948. The business went bankrupt in 1957 and was taken over by Courage & Barclay Ltd in 1958. The Company name changed to Ashford Valley Cyders Ltd around the time of the Courage takeover. The firm ceased trading in 1964, and the original brewery buildings were demolished in 1971. The manufacturer's mark states - 8. M.B. Made in England
