Ltd alloy tray dating from the early 1950s.<\/p>\n<p>The business was founded as the West Auckland Joint Stock Brewery Co. by J.H.Taplin in 1840.<br \/>\nThe brewery was located behind the Manor House to the North of West Green in West Auckland.<br \/>\nThe Company went into liquidation in 1877 and was bought by a consortium of brewers and maltsters which included J.W.Cameron &amp; Co. Ltd.<br \/>\nThe new Company was registered as the West Auckland Brewery Co. Ltd.<br \/>\nThe brewery maintained its own identity and brewed a range of milds, stouts, and Indian pale ales.<br \/>\nDuring the Second World War, a few German prisoners of war worked in the brewery.<br \/>\nThe brewery was acquired outright by J.W.Cameron Ltd in 1959 with 75 licensed houses, and brewing ceased in 1962.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>West Auckland Brewery Co.
