The Worcester Brewery of brewers and maltsters J.W & J.V.Stallard, was purchased with 7 tied houses by brothers Herbert William Spreckley and Arthur George Spreckley, in 1884.
\nThe business traded as Spreckley Brothers until 1897 when Spreckley Brothers merged with George Joseland & Sons of Worcester and the firm’s name changed to Spreckley Brothers Ltd, with a total estate of 57 public houses.
\nThe Worcester Brewery was acquired by Cheltenham & Hereford Breweries Ltd, with 68 public houses, in 1958.
\nBrewing ceased in 1960 and the Company was liquidated in the same year.
\nSome of the maltings remain as housing.<\/p>\n
The manufacturer’s mark states – Reginald Corfield Ltd Lombard Road.London.S.W.19. 572
