The Company was registered as Zachary Smith & Co. Ltd in 1898.
The brewery, woth over 80 public houses, was acquired by Martson. Thompson & Evershed Ltd in 1922 and brewing ceased.
In 2001 the brewery was demolished although the maltings still remain standing.
