The brewery was founded in Bridgend by Thomas Lewis in 1844 and was purchased by Robert Henry Stiles in 1871.
The Company was a brewer, maltster, aerated water manufacturer, and wine & spirit merchant.
From the early 1920s the public houses of R.H.Stiles were supplied predominantly by W.J.Rogers Ltd of Bristol.
The brewery was acquired by H.& G.Simonds Ltd of Reading in 1938 with 37 public houses.
Brewing had already ceased before this date.
