The Circus Brewery was founded on Bridge Street in Shrewsbury as Richards Brothers in 1860.
The Company was later named Richards & Hearn.
The firm was registered as the Shropshire Brewery Co. Ltd in 1898 to acquire Richards & Hearn, although for a short period it traded as William Hall & Co.
In the same year the Company merged with Charles Kynaston's Talbot Brewery and the name was changed to the Shrewsbury & Wem Co. Ltd.
The Circus Brewery was closed in 1912.
