The Spring Lane Brewery was established in Radcliffe, Manchester, in 1827.
The Company traded as James Politt in 1855 and from 1880 as Richard Seed & Co, before its registration as Richard Seed & Co. Ltd in 1896.
The Company was put up for sale later that year although it continued to brew until 1938.
The Company was acquired by Dutton's Blackburn Brewery Ltd in 1938 with 60 public houses and brewing ceased.
