Oliver Brothers brass tray dating from 1897.
The Sudbury Brewery was founded by George John Oliver in 1873. The first brew was in 1874.
The business traded as Oliver & Son in 1874, however by 1892 it was trading as Oliver Brothers.
Much of the brewery was rebuilt in 1902.
The Company was acquired by Greene King & Sons Ltd in 1919 with 51 public houses and brewing ceased in 1932.
The manufacturer's mark states - C.E.Wilkins. Bartholomew Row. Birmingham.
Although this is not strictly a brewery item as the tray itself advertises its "Aerated Waters", the "Sudbury Brewery" is mentioned so I have therefore included it.
