The Nailsworth Brewery was established around 1800 by the Clissold family.
The brewery grew in size and stature during the 19th century, and by 1891 the brewery buildings occupied most of the area between Butcher's Hill and Brewery Lanes, as well as the maltings in Tetbury Lane.
The Company was registered in 1889 to acquire the business of Clissold & Sons.
The Company, with 71 public houses, amalgamated with Cheltenham Original Brewery Co. Ltd in 1908 and was closed.
The maltings were used as a club.
