Origins & Early Trading

The business was founded in Lambeth in the 1830s by the Goding family.
The opening of the Lion Brewery was celebrated in 1836.
In the early years the Company traded as Goding & Co.
After Goding's death in 1856 the firm traded as Godings, Jenkins & Co.

The Lion Brewery Co. Ltd Registration

A new Company was registered in 1865 as the Lion Brewery Co. Ltd.
The Lion Brewery was acquired by Hoare & Co. Ltd in 1923 and was closed in 1924.
The Lion Brewery was demolished in 1949 to clear the site for the building of the Royal Festival Hall.

The manufacturer's mark states - The Associated Potteries Co.
