The Westerfield Brewery near Ipswich was founded and operated by John Bird from 1883.
John Bird & Co. brewed at least five different ales and stout which were advertised as 'Bird's Genuine Home-brewed'.
John Bird & Co.
The firm was acquired by James P.Rann who worked from George Castle's brewery.
Both then traded as John Bird & Co.
The Company went into voluntary liquidation in 1908 but brewing continued until at least 1912.
The business was sold in 1915.
