Foundation of the Business
The business was founded in Isleworth in 1726 by John Atfield.
The brewery was acquired by William Farnell in 1800.
Over the next 30 years Farnell purchased many public houses in the area and enlarged the brewery.
In 1854 William Watson, a relation by marriage, entered into partnership with the Farnells and in 1865 the trading name became Farnell & Watson.
Isleworth Brewery Ltd Registration
The Company was registered in 1886 as Isleworth Brewery Ltd to acquire Farnell & Watson.
After the business went into voluntary liquidation in 1923 it was acquired by Watney, Combe, Reid & Co. Ltd in 1924 with 228 public houses.
Brewing ceased in 1952 and the premises were later used as a bottling store by Watney, Combe, Reid & Co. Ltd until the early 1990s.
The site was demolished for housing redevelopment.
