The Waterside Brewery of Edward Mason
The Waterside Brewery was started by Edward Mason in Maidstone, Kent, around 1830.
After their father had successfully established the business, brothers Edward and Allen continued running the Company which became renowned for its scientific approach to brewing.
The Company began bottling in 1909 and in the same year it registered its 'Maid with a bottle and glass' trade mark.
In the 1910s and 1920s Mason's won brewing medals for the quality of its beers in London, Rome, and Paris.
Shepherd Neame Ltd Takeover
The Waterside Brewery, with 80 public houses, was acquired by Shepherd Neame Ltd in 1956 when it was closed.
The site was demolished shortly afterwards.
The manufacturer's mark states - The Associated Potteries Co.
