Buntings Business
Mr A.C.Bunting formed Charles Bunting wine and spirit merchants in 1829, later changing direction to become a brewer in Uttoxeter.
The Company's 'Hand holding a Wreath' trade mark was used by Bunting's as early as the 1860s, and it was registered in 1895.
The firm brewed quality ales which were recognised at the London Brewers Exhibition in 1890.

The Uttoxeter Brewery Company was also founded in 1829 by Thomas Earp and Edward Saunders.
The Uttoxter Brewery Co & Dove Valley Brewery Co. Ltd was liquidated, with 26 public houses, in 1895.

The Company was registered as Charles Bunting Ltd in 1895 to acquire the assets of the Uttoxeter & Dove Valley Brewery Co. Ltd.
The brewery was acquired by Parker's Burslem Brewery Ltd in 1929 and brewing ceased.
The Company was liquidated in the 1930s.
Uttoxeter Urban District Council used the premises for a short while to house fire engines and ambulances, presumably during the Second World War.
The site is now a shopping centre.
