The Park Brewery in Plumstead, was founded by L.Davis in 1845, and traded as L.Davis & Son.
The firm brewed 'Celebrated Pale and Mild Ales'.
By 1850, under Davis's ownership, the Park Brewery was renamed the Steam Brewery.
The brewery was renamed again as the North Kent Brewery by 1878, and traded as Mitchell & Beasley until 1887.
Mitchell & Beasley brewed quality beers which were recognised with two Royal Warrants from 'H.R.H The Prince of Wales' and 'H.R.H.The Duke of Edinburgh' in the 1880s.
The Company was taken over by Charles Beasley in 1887.
The North Kent Brewery was rebuilt and enlarged in 1889 by brewery architects, Inskip & Mackenzie, featuring a central tower with an illuminated clock. Its brewing capacity was also increased in 1901.
A large bottling store was added in 1931.
The Company was registered as Charles Beasley Ltd in 1943 by his eldest son, Charles Gerald Beasley.
The firm brewed a wide range of draught and bottled beers.
The North Kent Brewery was acquired by Courage, Barclay, Simonds & Co. Ltd in 1963, and brewing ceased in 1965.
The brewery has been demolished.
