The 1st Original Queen's Brewery - Poulton-le-Fylde

The Queen's Brewery was founded by William Caterall and John Swarbrick in Queen's Square, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, in 1871. The Company traded as Caterall & Swarbrick.
In 1890 Caterall & Swarbrick acquired James Richardson's Newton Springs Brewery, with 12 public houses, based in Hardhorn.

The 2nd Queen's Brewery (Renamed) - Hardhorn

The Company was registered as Catterall & Swarbrick's Brewery Ltd in 1894.
Brewing was transferred to Hardhorn, and the Newton Springs Brewery was renamed the Queen's Brewery, and the original Queen's Brewery in Poulton-le-Fylde was closed.

The 3rd Queen's Brewery - Built on Talbot Road Blackpool

A new third Queen's Brewery was built on Talbot Road in Blackpool in 1927.
The brewery in Hardhorn ceased brewing but continued bottling Guinness until 1960.
The Queen's Brewery in Blackpool, with 104 public houses, was acquired by Northern Breweries Ltd in 1961.
Northern Breweries Ltd was renamed Northern Breweries of Great Britain Ltd then United Breweries Ltd in 1962.
United Breweries Ltd merged with Charrington & Co. Ltd in 1964 to form Charrington United Breweries Ltd which in turn merged with Bass, Mitchells & Butlers Ltd in 1967, to create Bass Charrington Ltd.
Catterall & Swarbrick's brewery was closed by Bass Charrington Ltd in 1971.
The Queen's Brewery on Talbot Road, Blackpool, was demolished in 2000.
It is now a car park with two access roads, named Catterall Lane and Swarbrick Lane.
