The Hipperholme Steam Brewery was established in 1877 by William Brear and Thomas Brown.
Brear & Brown also owned a four storey Italianate tower, which was destoyed by fire in 1988.
The Company was registered as Brear & Brown Ltd in 1894.
In 1905 Brear & Brown also owned a wine & spirit business in Halifax.
The Hipperholme Steam Brewery was acquired by Waller & Son Ltd in 1916, which transferred all its brewing to the site in 1917.
The 75 public houses were divided between Waller's Bradford Brewery Ltd and Richard Whitaker & Sons Ltd.
The brewery continued to brew under the name of Waller's Bradford Brewery Ltd, which had been registered as such, in 1925.
The Company was acquired by Leeds & Wakefield Breweries Ltd in 1935.
The brewery closed, though malting continued until 1973.
The site was demolished and cleared in 2010.
