The Company was registered as Crosswell's Cardiff Brewery Ltd in 1897, to amalgamate the businesses of the Caerphilly & Castle Brewery Co. Ltd and Crosswell's Ltd.
The Company was acquired by Andrew Buchan's Breweries Ltd of Rhymney in 1938, and brewing ceased in 1947.
Andrew Buchan's Breweries Ltd operated Crosswell's brewery for bottling its beers until 1958, when it was closed, and subsequently demolished.
