Henry Kynaston was born in Whixall in Shropshire in 1848.
By the 1870s he was trading as a brewer and maltster, and lived on Noble Street, in Wem, Shropshire.
He also acted an agent for Irish brewers, Joseph Watkin's & Co., and Jameson, Pim & Co.
By 1892 Charles Henry Kynaston owned the business and he built a new Drawwell Brewery, based on gravitational principles, on Noble Street in Wem.
The Noble Street brewery, with 12 public houses, was acquired by the Shropshire Brewery Co. Ltd in 1898, which then changed its name to the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery Co. Ltd.
The Kynaston family retained an interest in the Company, with Charles Henry Kynaston being a director until his death in 1943.
The Noble Street brewery was acquired by Greenall Whitley & Co. Ltd in 1951, and brewing ceased in 1988.
