The business was founded in Blaenavon in 1884 when Charles Francis Westlake acquired William's Cambrian Brewery.
The Company was registered as Westlake's Brewery Ltd in 1889.
A new Cambrian Brewery was built at Cwmavon in 1900 which had a better water supply.
Before the First World War, the business prospered and won several brewing prizes for its ales.
After the War trading in South Wales was difficult and in 1928 the Company ceased brewing.
Westlake's public houses were acquired by Daniel Seys Davies Reform Brewery in Abersychan.
The brewery suffered a major fire in 2012 but there are plans to restore the buildings.
The tray featured, pre-dates the move to the new brewery in 1900.
The manufacturer's mark states - Horrocks & Co. Ltd Ashton u Lyne
