Foundation & Early Trading
John Vincent founded the Hampstead brewing business in 1720.
After having a number of different owners the Company traded as Harris & Co. in the 1870s.
After the death of owner, Edward Harris in 1875, A.H.Mure, a vicar, became the Hampstead Brewery's new owner in 1879.
Mure & Co.
After various partnerships the Company traded as Mure & Co. from 1895 until 1926.
The Company was registered as the Hampstead Brewery Co. Ltd to acquire Mure & Co. in 1926.
The firm's first Chairman, Arthur Henry Mure, died in 1931 and in that year
the Company was acquired by Reffell's Bexley Brewery Ltd.
The Hampstead Brewery was closed in 1932.
Some of the buildings are still standing.
