Robert Randall
Jersey maltster and brewer Robert Henry Randall purchased the existing Vauxlarens Brewery in Guernsey in 1868.
Robert extended and modernised the brewery in 1873 which he cited on St. Julian's Avenue.
Always a pioneer, in 1887 Randall's was the first Company in Guernsey to produce its own electricity for Queen Victoria's Jubilee.
Robert Henry died in 1900 leaving his twenty four year old son, Robert William, to run the brewery.
R.W.Randall Ltd Registration
The Company was registered as R.W.Randall Ltd in 1929.
During the dark days of the Second World War when Guernsey was occupied, the Vauxlarens Brewery ceased brewing.
After the war Randalls reorganised its plant, equipment and distribution and this significant investment resulted in a slow recovery.
Sold to the Guernsey Pub Company
The Company continued to trade successfully and in 2006 it was sold to the Guernsey Pub Company, a group of private investors.
In 2008 the Vauxlaurens Brewery on St. Julian's Avenue was moved to a former sawmill off St. George's Esplanade.
The Vauxlarens site was redeveloped as a hotel.
The Company still has a small pub and hotel estate and a distillery was installed in 2014.
The Vauxlaurens Brewery is based in Guernsey and is still brewing independently.
