The business was founded in Angel Place, Worcester by Henry Harrison in 1842.
By 1883 the firm was trading as Malpas, Lewis, Clarke & Co.
By 1895 the Company was trading as Lewis, Clark & Co. as both brewers and wine merchants.
The Company was registered as Lewis Clarke Ltd in 1929.
The brewery, with 53 public houses, was acquired by Marston, Thompson & Evershed Ltd in 1937.
Brewing ceased in the 1950s but bottling continued until the early 1970s.

The manufacturer's mark states - Causton, London.
