Ford's St. Thomas Brewery
The business was formed by Daniel Ford in Landport, Portsmouth, in 1830. The Victory Brewery, which was originally known as the St. Thomas Brewery, was purchased by J.J.Young in 1860.
The firm's Victory trade mark was registered in 1889.
J.J.Young & Sons Ltd Registration
The Company was registered as J.J.Young & Sons Ltd in 1902.
The Victory Brewery, with 86 public houses, was taken over by George Peters & Co. Ltd in 1914. George Peters & Co. Ltd was a brewer and a wine merchant.
It had closed the brewing arm of the business in 1910 but continued to operate the Young's Victory Brewery after its purchase.
In 1959 George Peters & Co. Ltd was acquired by Friary Meux Ltd and brewing ceased at the Victory Brewery.
