The Pleasance Brewery was founded in Dundee before 1750, and was acquired by William Ballingall in 1844, trading under the name of Ballingall & Son.
In the late 1800s, under the leadership of his son Hugh Ballingall, the Pleasance Brewery was enlarged and rebuilt and a second brewery, the Park Brewery, was added in 1881.
The business was registered as Ballingall & Son Ltd in 1897.
In 1964 the Company took the decision to cease brewing.
Ballingall's 7 public houses continued to be supplied by beers brewed at Drybrough & Co. Ltd of Edinburgh
Drybrough & Co. Ltd was acquired by Watney Mann Ltd in 1965.
Under the ownership of Watney Mann Ltd, Drybrough's acquired Ballingall & Son Ltd's licensed houses in 1968, and the business ceased to trade.
The manufacturer's mark states - Reginald Corfield Ltd Lombard Road, London.S.W.19.
