The Cambrian Brewery in Newport, was operated by William Henry Gregory until it was acquired by Yorath & Sons in 1877.
The Company was registered in 1895 to amalgamate Yorath & Sons and J.L.Lloyd & Co.Ltd becoming Lloyd & Yorath Ltd.
In 1898 Lloyd & Yorath Ltd acquired the Castle Brewery of Searle & Herring Ltd in Newport with 69 public houses.
The Company name changed from Lloyd & Yorath Ltd to Lloyd's (Newport) Ltd in 1946.
The Cambrian Brewery, with 120 public houses, was acquired by Ansells Brewery Ltd in 1951.
The business was closed in 1961.
