The Old Brewery was founded in Malton in 1767.
It was first owned by Walker & Dunlop in 1780.
The firm was subsequently owned by W.Walker & Co, then John Walker & Co., and sold to W.Garbutt & Johnson in 1892.
It was purchased by Charles Rose in 1894, and traded as Charles Rose & Co.
The Company was registered in 1928 as Charles Rose & Co. Ltd.
The Old Brewery, with 55 tied houses, was acquired by Tetley Walker Ltd, which was then part of Allied Breweries Ltd in 1965, and brewing ceased in 1969.
The manufacturer's mark states - Printed in Great Britain by Reginald Corfield Ltd. 0419
