The firm was originally founded as an agent for Showell & Co. Ltd, based in the West Midlands.
The Company sold Showell's beers in South Wales.
The Company was registered as Crosswell's Cardiff Brewery Ltd in 1897, to amalgamate the businesses of the Caerphilly & Castle Brewery Co. Ltd and Crosswell's Ltd.
The Company was acquired by Andrew Buchan's Breweries Ltd of Rhymney in 1938, and brewing ceased in 1947.
Andrew Buchan's Breweries Ltd operated Crosswell's brewery for bottling its beers until 1958, when it was closed, and subsequently demolished.

The manufacturer's mark states - Hancock Corfield & Waller Ltd Mitcham London Underneath the maker's mark is - 1'5M.28.F.FT
