William H.Baxter copper tray dating from the 1880s. Partners Richard Booth and John Baxter owned the Haslingden Brewery before 1850. The partnership was dissolved when John Baxter acquired the Glen Top Brewery in Waterfoot. William Hudson Baxter joined his brother at the Glen Top Brewery in 1855. In 1884 William purchased the Haslingden Brewery from the Booth's executors. Around 1900 the Company was registered as William Hudson Baxter & Co. Ltd. The Haslingden Brewery was acquired by John Baxter in 1922 with 38 public houses and off-licences. The manufacturer's mark states - H.J.Turner (Groves. Patent. 1883) Moseley. Birm.m
