Oliver Brothers brass tray dating from 1897. The Sudbury Brewery was based in Sudbury, Suffolk.
Oliver Brothers brass tray dating from 1897. The Sudbury Brewery was founded by George John Oliver in 1873. The first brew was in 1874. The business traded as Oliver & Son in 1874 however by 1892 it was trading as Oliver Brothers. Much of the brewery was rebuilt in 1902. The Company was acquired by Greene King & Sons Ltd in 1919 with 51 public houses and brewing ceased in 1932. Although this is not strictly a brewery item as the tray itself advertises its "Aerated Waters", the "Sudbury Brewery" is mentioned so therefore I have included it. The manufacturer's mark states - C.E.Wilkins. Bartholomew Row. Birmingham.
