Bentley's Old Brewery (Rotherham) Ltd tin tray dating from 1956. The Company was founded in 1825 and was run by Robert Bentley. Robert's son, Robert John Bentley, ran the brewery after the death of his father. Robert John Bentley died in 1893 and from 1910 the Old Brewery was managed by 'The Trustees of the late R.J.Bentley'. The Company was registered as Bentley's Old Brewery (Rotherham) Ltd in 1949. The Old Brewery was acquired by Hammond's United Breweries Ltd in 1956 and brewing ceased. It is highly likely that the manufacturer was Hancock Corfield & Waller Ltd.
